Winter, Who? The Ultimate Guide To Spring Ready Style
I don’t know about you, but I am so over winter. I’m
bored of wearing heavy coats and chunky jumpers. To say I am craving a little sunshine,
and a touch of warmer weather would be an understatement. Thankfully, the dark,
dreary days of winter are finally giving way to brighter mornings and slightly
longer evenings. But, if you’re like me and you live in Ireland,
you know that ‘spring’ is a very loose term. One minute it’s sunny and the next
the heavens have opened which makes it harder to get dressed for those
in-between weather days.
To help with the transition, I’ve compiled a list of essential
wardrobe pieces to use as your guide for the season ahead that will keep you
stylish, comfortable and most importantly, prepared for all four seasons in a
day.
Trench Goals: The Coat That Has Your Back
If there’s one thing that screams “I’ve got my life together,”
it’s the classic trench coat. Who doesn’t love a trench coat? It’s lightweight
enough for those milder days but offers enough warmth for when it’s still a
little chilly. Its’ versatility means it can be thrown on with almost any
outfit. I would opt for a neutral shade like beige or black as these are sure
to match everything in your wardrobe. Plus, it's perfect for those last-minute
coffee dates or commutes to university or work for when you want to look a
little more put together.

Sweater Weather… But Make it Springy
If you’re not ready to part ways with your cosy knits just
yet, try swapping out the heavy, chunky jumpers for lighter knits- like cotton
or wool jumpers or cardigans. I LOVE a cardigan all year round but why
do they look much cuter in spring? Cardigans are perfect for layering under a
trench or a leather jacket when the temperatures are unpredictable.

Midi Skirt Magic
A midi skirt is the ultimate transitional piece in my
opinion because it provides that perfect balance between warmth and
breathability. Whether you prefer satin
or denim, it’s for sure a staple piece I think everyone should have in their
wardrobe. It can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion or the weather.

Boots or Trainers? The Eternal Dilemma
When it comes to spring footwear, versatility is key. Boots are great for those wet unpredictable days, offering warmth and style. But on dry, sunnier days nothing beats a pair of trainers for a casual look. My go-to trainers in spring are the New Balance 530’s or the Adidas Spezials. If you’re feeling adventurous, you could try a loafer or a mule for that perfect balance between dressed up and relaxed? The key is to have options at the ready so you can switch things up depending on the weather (or your mood!)
Honourable mentions to:
The Bottom Line
Dressing for spring is all about being prepared for anything.
Layers are your best friend, and investing in key pieces will make the transition
much easier (and more stylish!) Embrace the in-between season and have fun with
your outfits by adding colour and cute patterns. And… Don’t forget to
check the weather app before you leave the house!
